Tank tops and "Daisy Dukes!"

Haha, that gave me a smile—thanks for sharing @GaryBlake ! Do you still have a favorite go-to outfit these days when the weather heats up, or have you completely retired the tank tops?

I stopped wearing shorts around town. Now I wear biker length shorts or capris. I am middle 70's.

Thanks for sharing that @tennis ! Biker shorts and capris sound like a great compromise—still cool and comfy, but with a bit more coverage. Do you find yourself choosing them more for comfort, or is it more about feeling confident in what you wear these days?

Until the last five years I have always worn something a little glittery, a rhinestone or two, shoes with "WOW". (I was a '70's rock groupie, so there ya go) much more subtle then the 70's though. Now the most you'll see are smaller silver earrings, smaller dangles with natural stones, simple silver bangle bracelets, tee shirts, capris, jeans. and no more nursing scrubs! Still get many compliments on my shoes but they are flat loafers, fisherman sandals, etc. in bright colors. This is me now at age 69.

Thank you for sharing your style journey @sadieclayladie — I love how you described it! That touch of sparkle and those ‘WOW’ shoes really show your fun personality. It sounds like you’ve found a great balance between comfort and flair now. Do you still get the urge to add a little glitter or color sometimes, or do you feel your bright shoes give you just enough?

Any top that is tight and clingy. Loose loose to cover up my fat and rolls. And my cowboy boots and heels. Just comfortable safe to walk in shoes.

Thanks for sharing that @Arkie98 — it makes so much sense. Comfort really does win out, and it sounds like you’ve found what works best for you. Do you have a favorite type of comfy shoe now that’s become your everyday go-to?

Because of a diagnosis of Stenosis, I had to give up my long loved high heels at the age of 61. I always prided myself by having (what I thought) the best shoes in the room. Now I have Sketchers Slipins ugh !

Thank you for sharing that @Peggmartin — I can imagine it must have been hard to give up your beloved heels, especially after being known for having the best shoes in the room! Sketchers Slip-ins may not have the same glamor, but at least they’re comfy and easy. Do you ever miss the fun of shopping for statement shoes, or have you found other ways to add flair to your outfits?

At 84, I’ve only give up shorts & high heels.

Thank you for sharing that @1gulfshores — it’s wonderful that you’ve kept so much of your style even at 84! Giving up just shorts and heels is pretty impressive. Do you have a favorite outfit now that makes you feel comfortable and confident?

At 72 I never gave up anything other than my Air Force uniform. I still wear jeans and a T shirt. I haven’t been a fan of girlie clothes. As the only girl between 2 brothers I dressed and played with what they played with. Trucks and the old fashioned green Army men. I only wore a dress and shirts and skirts to school and church. I’m a plain Jane kind of girl, I don’t wear makeup or heels, etc. We have been married for 53 years as of Sept 10,1972. We met while serving. Our story is totally romantic and I wouldn’t change a single thing.

I love that you’ve stayed comfortable in your jeans and tees, and 53 years of marriage is such a wonderful milestone, congratulations! Since you mentioned your story is totally romantic, I have to ask—do you have a favorite memory from when you and your husband first met while serving?

Bkinds, mini skirts, high heals.

High heels, shorts, form fitting tee shirts, sleeveless dresses and blouses.

I just don’t wear very low v-neck tops. I do tend to wear Crewneck top more nowadays.

I love everything soft. I like a loose, soft sweater or a sweatshirt.
