When I was growing up we had a cheap shoe store. We could get shoes 2 pair for $5. My sister got one and I got the other pair. We only wore them to school The rest of the time we were always barefoot. This habit has stuck with me and I am now 69 years old. I have a couple of pairs of house shoes that were gifts that still look brand new!!!

I always wear sandals or slippers. I have broken my toes many times over the years. Wearing shoes gives me some protection.
@mmarple Ouch, that sounds painful. It totally makes sense why you stick with slippers or sandals now. A little protection goes a long way!

Slippers all year long. As a type 2 diabetic I’m to wear socks made for diabetics. It would make me crazy to run around in my socks because they would probably get dirty. I put on my slippers over my socks. That’s my lifestyle if you can call it that. Lol
@Gayle B. That sounds like a solid routine. Slippers over socks keep your feet warm and protected, which is the perfect combo.
