I once heard a saying that goes, “If you want to change the world, start by making your be”. When I was younger, it felt like such a chore, but now it’s second nature. If I don’t get to it first thing in the morning, the rest of the day feels a bit out of sync. How about you? Do you make your bed every morning or let it wait until later? I’m curious to see your answers!

I have bad knees and back. I sleep on a comforter and under a soft blanket so that all I have to do in the morning is tidy my pillows and fold the blanket.

I get up and have a cup of coffee. Then I make the bed and then my shower. When I get dressed and step out of the bathroom, my bedroom looks complete and put together.

I take the dog out for a short “bio break”, come back inside, start the coffee - then make the bed while the coffee is brewing.
Maybe it’s because of all my years of business travel and having a made up bed every day, maybe it’s the only thing I can control these days - but it gives me a sense of calm and productivity to start my day.

I always make my bed as soon as my feet hit the floor, I don't know about everyone else but I feel like I just clean up the whole house , I feel great.

Awww....after reading all the posts here, I feel like a slacker! BUT, i read that there is a very good reason to NOT make your bed at all according to scientific studies!! This is just one of hundreds of articles supporting that claim:

I go to my room around 5:30 each evening after dinner to work on my diamond painting. Just before 7 p.m. I make my bed and turn on my electrick blanket (which I sleep on top of). Back to the living room at 7 to read articles on my laptop and read my book until bedtime at 9.

I’m with you Linda..my sense of calm

I make my bed everyday. I cannot leave the house with it unmade I think the best thing to do at night is a slip into a bed that’s been made straightened out. But I love the day. I changed my sheet. I just love having clean sheets on my bed if I could, I changed them every day. I bet there’s a lot more people out there that make their beds every day. Have a great day

I like to get it done and not have to think about it later. The 3 cats converge and get comfy. I don't want them or my dogs on the sheets

I used to make my side as soon as I went to the bathroom. Whether or not my husband gets up at the same time. After reading that doctor’s have advised not to make your bed right away, pull back the sheet and covers, I let it breathe for awhile until sometime after I get dressed. My husband makes his own side of the bed and I make my side. It’s been our pattern since we are both retired now.
Making our own beds was I believe was the first chore we were assigned to do as children. Good habits last!

I get up, go to the bathroom and brush my teeth and wash up, go to the kitchen, turn on the tea kettle, go in the living room, turn on the TV, open blinds, then back to bedroom to get my dog out of her crate, go outside, pick up solar lights and let her do her business.
come in, drink my tea, biscuit, banana and pineapple, feed her, go sit down with my tea. Once I catch up on local and tv news I go back in my bedroom, make my bed and then I get dressed. Always make my bed, but let it air out first.
