Hope everyone had a happy Halloween. I was on a family vacation with our children, grand children and great grand-daughter!

Thanks for sharing that @Cindy k ! What a wonderful way to spend Halloween — surrounded by family and making memories together. Did you all do anything special to celebrate while on vacation, or was it more about simply enjoying time together?

Thanks for sharing that @Hazeleyes ! How thoughtful of you to make a special little gift — I’m sure your neighbor’s daughter loved the butterfly theme. Sounds like you had a productive day, too! Do you usually like to get your tax paperwork sorted early, or was this a “get it done while it’s quiet” kind of day?

I did not realize that h spreadsheets and word options on my computer was a subscription and it ended in June. Cost too much to renew. Now. Put the info on paper and will add what ever till the end of the year. I found a free subscription which I will put the information from all of this year into it and continue from there afterwards.

Thanks for sharing that @Wellman ! Wow, that sounds like such a wonderful community event — and what a turnout! I love that each trunk told a different Bible story, that’s such a creative idea. Do you help out with this event every year, or was this your first time volunteering?

My husband and I did this for several years. Our first trunk had huge pretzel balloons and we told the story of how the monks invented the pretzel to show children how to pray. We were set up across from Santa and Mrs Claus which inspired us to do a nativity trunk the next year. We wanted to show the real meaning of Christmas. A couple trunks featured activities of the church such as Awana and Operation Christmas Child. The rest were secular and it was competitive. We did the same trunk a few more times until my husband's health failed and we couldn't do it. We never won but we got a lot of votes. This year they decided to do only Bible stories. With my husband's declining health we gave away the majority of more than 1200 nativity sets a couple years ago. The trunk supplies also went. My husband went to be with Jesus this past April and I have cancer. I wanted to help and worked with registration.

What a beautiful story and legacy you and your husband created together through those Trunk or Treat events. It’s clear how much love and meaning you both put into every detail, especially sharing the true message of Christmas. I’m so sorry for your loss and for what you’re going through now.
