Hey there, dear GrayViners! Hope your week is rolling along smoothly!

Lately, I’ve been thinking about getting another tattoo—it’s been months since my last one, and the itch is definitely back. Every time I see someone with a design, I can’t help but wonder about the story behind it. I love how a small mark on the skin can hold an entire chapter of someone’s life.

My first tattoo came two years after a heartbreak. I know… it sounds like something a 20-year-old would do, but for me, it was a promise to myself—a reminder that I would never be afraid to fall in love again. Every tattoo I’ve gotten since then has carried its own meaning: a pact to have courage, a reminder that hard seasons will eventually pass, a spark to create, to dream, to hope, to move forward.

So now I’m curious about your story. Where do you stand on tattoos—team “got one,” “thinking about it,” or “not for me”? If you have one, what’s your favorite design or the story behind it? And if you’ve always thought about getting one, what would you choose? And if you’re firmly in the “not for me” camp, I’d love to hear why—was it a personal decision, a style preference, or something else entirely?

Let’s chat in the comments—I’d love to hear your thoughts and stories.

I have a tattoo. Is a bluebird with a red rose hanging from its beak & my initials under it. Was 40 years old when I decided to get it. Has a very personal meaning to me that I am not willing to share with the internet.

l finally decided to get one when l was in my late 50's. My name means guardian Angel and so l got one and had my mom and MIL's initials put on each side. They are both my Heavenly guardians that look down on me every day

I do not have any tattoos and now I have no interest in them. Back when I was in high school I was thinking of getting one of a small bird at my bikini line but never went to have it dine because of things I heard about contaminated needles and infections.

I have one. About 10 years ago my son and I rode motorcycles from Chicago to LA on old Route 66. I have a tattoo of the Route 66 road sign. As far as what other people do or think about tattoos, it's none of my business. To each his own. Peace.

I have always wanted one or?? petrified of needles. Wanted a Dragon Fly one one for my deceased sister, grandaughter and my significant other. So when i can courage up the fear probably will never have one. Some i have seen and are very artistic and pretty

I love my 3 tattoos. I have a dolphin and some flowers. I would love to have more but my artist is out of state now and I have heard tattoos and blood thinners don't mix. I'm going to find out the next time I go to the cardiologist.

Not for me! I’ve never cared for any design that I would put on my body. My husband and I met while we were both serving in the Air Force. His hair was cut according to refs which meant he had no facial hair. He likes how he looks and I’m on board with his choice to keep it that way 50 + later and a clean shaven face. Neither one of us had any tattoos then and we kept it that way. He hasn’t seen a tattoo that he wanted permanently on his handsome body! Nope again, not for us! ☮️

I have 10. Every one has a reason. I want another one. But I would be happy getting the final feather I need. I have 1 Feather for every time I have had Cancer and walked away alive. I have 5 feathers I need 6.
