Hello from Indianapolis

My name is Sherri. I’m 63, retired, and on SSD. I have 5 dogs that depend on me and keep me on my toes. I live in Indianapolis now but would like to move somewhere warmer by this spring. Any suggestions? Hard to figure out since I want to avoid hurricanes, tornadoes, and droughts.

Hi Sherri! It sounds like you’ve got quite the busy and loving household with your five dogs! Hopefully, the members of the forum can offer some great suggestions based on their own experiences. Wishing you the best of luck as you figure out your next move!

Hi! If you prefer dryer heat Arizona is where I spend time, I go to Mesa

Hi, I am Kathy and I live in small county called San Luis Obispo, CA. I have been here for 35 years from southern CA. I wanted to get away from the heat, the smog and the traffic. I live in a small area that is Los Osos, it is 12 miles north of the city of San Luis Obispo or SLO. I know that is what SLO is and how people behave. It's also a well known tourist area and the home of well know college, and a lot of winerys. We have no smog, there are no hugh freeways. It has farms and fishing and a lot of small business. We are friendly, caring and helpful, we enjoy mild weather most of the times. It also can be expensive to live here but for me I it is worth it. I am retired and on SS so I shop carefully. I am very happy and I am comfortable and I feel safe.

Were ever you decided to move to be happy, comfortable and feel safe. Best of luck to you, Kathy Hall

Arizona is my suggestion. Tucson is too hot. Phoenix is too big. Personally, we also are both retired and living on fixed incomes. We have mobility issues but we want to move to Flagstaff. We would need help with snow removal but we can visit all over Arizona to see all the things available in the area. You can be plenty of warmth all over the state! How does that sound?

New Mexico, I chose Las Cruces because my daughter fell in love with it. If that's too hot there are plenty of places in the state with milder temps.
I am a FL native that spent time in TX, now I don't worry about Hurricanes, Tornados or stupidity. I just had to get used to the dust.
