Maid's Pay Raise Request
The maid asked her employer for a raise. The wife, a bit uneasy about it, decided to ask why.
“Well, ma’am,” the maid said, “there are three reasons. First, I clean better than you.”
“Who told you that?” the wife asked.
“Your husband did,” said the maid.
“Oh really?” the wife said, frowning.
“The second reason,” the maid continued, “is that I cook better than you.”
The wife crossed her arms. “And who told you that?”
“Your husband,” the maid replied again.
Now clearly annoyed, the wife snapped, “And what’s your third reason?”
“Well,” the maid said with a grin, “I’m better in bed than you.”
The wife glared. “And did my husband tell you that too?”
“No, ma’am,” said the maid. “The gardener did.”
The wife sighed. “So… how much did you say you wanted?”
