Paddy and the Paint Job
Paddy got a new job painting the white lines down the middle of the road.
On his first day, he managed to paint a full mile. The foreman was impressed and said, “Not bad for your first day!”
The next day, Paddy only managed half a mile. The foreman thought, He’ll pick up the pace once he settles in.
But on the third day, Paddy only painted a quarter mile. By Friday, he was down to just a hundred yards!
The foreman called him into the office and said,
“Paddy, I’m sorry, but I have to let you go. You started off great, but every day you’ve done less and less. At this rate, we’ll never finish the job!”
Paddy looked at him and said,
“Well, boss, you gotta remember, the farther I go, the longer the walk back to my bucket of paint!”
