Sure, he was being poetic (and maybe a touch dramatic), but let’s be honest—there’s something deeply comforting about the simple, everyday rituals that shape our lives. Making your morning coffee or tea in your favorite mug, curling up on the couch with a good book, watching that one TV show you never miss. It’s the little things that quietly fill our days with meaning.

I’m a conflict of different things. I love waking up to kiss my husband of over 52 years. On the other hand, I’m pissed off that I’m still alive and that I didn’t die during the night. Pissed at myself that I haven’t ended my life yet. On the other hand again, we don’t miss Jeopardy. First we eat supper and catch the national news. Sometimes I don’t know why we bother. I get riled up and I know my blood pressure has risen! I don’t want to watch it but I need to know what’s going on in our world
