Remember How Cheap These Were?

Nothing brings back the magic of the ’70s quite like an old concert ticket stub, and the prices are enough to make you laugh out loud today. These were nights of big music, bright lights, and unforgettable memories—all for less than the cost of lunch now. So let’s hear it, GrayViners: What’s the most memorable concert you ever went to, and how much did that ticket set you back? Let's reminisce here! What recent discovery served you a major dose of nostalgia? Tell us your stories.

"The Beach Boys" in 1968 at Memorial Hall in Dayton, Ohio. It cost me nothing, a high school friend gave me the ticket. I remember Dennis Wilson tossed his drum sticks into the crowd after they performmed their last song of the evening.

RUSH was my first concert. We sat on a floor covered in sawdust. I had gotten a large soda which I drank all of it when all of a sudden I got sick. Into the cup it went. I push the cup as far forward as the crowd would allow and sit back to enjoy the rest of the concert when someone walked through and accidently kicked it over. Needless to say, our whole row scooted backwards.

Rosemary bought 2 tickets to see Elvis in Concert in Cincinnati, Ohio in June of 1977. Her friend was supposed to go but she had to be in a wedding. She couldn't go. So Rosemary ask me if I would love to go. Yes I did go. What a concert it was. Ticket was 15.00 back then.
