Still Adapting To The New Job
A gentleman hopped into a taxi and settled in for a quiet ride across town.
After a few minutes, he had a question for the driver, so he leaned forward and gently tapped the man on the shoulder.
Well, that driver screamed like a banshee, swerved into traffic, jumped the curb, and came to a screeching halt just inches from a storefront window!
For a moment, the cab was completely silent.
Then the poor driver, still shaking, turned to the passenger and said, “Are you okay? I’m so sorry—you just scared the life out of me!”
The passenger, startled himself, replied, “I didn’t mean to! I had no idea a little tap on the shoulder would cause all that!”
The driver let out a breath and said: “No, no… it’s my fault entirely. Today’s my very first day driving a cab.”
“Before this, I spent 25 years driving a hearse.”
