Sunday Classics 05.11.2025
Hey GrayViners!
What a week for classic tunes! You all came through with some hard-hitters, but one warm-hearted favorite rose to the top with the most love...
This week’s Sunday Classics winner is: “You’ve Got A Friend” by Carole King!

Released in 1971 on her landmark Tapestry album, this song has comforted listeners for over 50 years—and for good reason.
Carole wrote it during a time when both she and her friend James Taylor were recording at the same studio. James ended up loving it so much that he recorded his own version before hers even came out—and his won a Grammy!
Carole wasn’t bothered one bit, though; she said it was always meant to be shared. That’s the spirit of the song: simple kindness, loyalty, and being there when someone needs you. No flashy tricks—just honest-to-goodness heart.
Now, let’s talk about next week! What classic should we feature in the newsletter? Drop your pick in the comments below. The suggestion that gets the most reactions will be our next Sunday Classics winner.
Let’s hear what you’ve got!

Cheers!
Blue
