Sunday Classics 07.20.2025
Alright, GrayViners—it’s that time again! Another Sunday, another classic tune to crank up while you sip your morning coffee or dance around the kitchen in your slippers. We asked you to send in your favorite golden oldies, and once again, you delivered with some real toe-tappers. After tallying up the reactions, we’ve got a winner—and it’s one that’ll have you clapping on the 2 and 4.
This week’s Sunday Classics pick goes to @RoyzToyz for suggesting "Hang On Sloopy" by The McCoys!

Released in 1965, this feel-good anthem shot straight to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and hasn’t stopped making folks smile since. Did you know it was originally written for another group and titled “My Girl Sloopy”? Or that it’s the official rock song of Ohio? That’s right—Buckeyes have been singing it at sporting events for decades. And get this: The McCoys were still in their teens when they recorded the song, with future guitar legend Rick Derringer on lead vocals!
Now it’s your turn again—what song should we shine the spotlight on next Sunday?
Drop your suggestion in the comments, and don’t forget to give a little love (a like or two) to your fellow GrayViners’ picks. The one with the most reactions wins a feature in next week’s newsletter and bragging rights for the next seven days. Let’s keep the jukebox spinning!
Cheers!
Blue
