Sunday Classics 11.09.2025

Hey GrayViners!

What better way to start a Sunday than with a little sunshine and a song that just makes you feel lighter?

Last week, you all voted, and the winner for Sunday Classics is the joyful, feel-good tune “Up, Up and Away” by The 5th Dimension!

Source: YouTube/The 5th Dimension

This dreamy hit floated onto the airwaves back in 1967, written by the legendary Jimmy Webb and performed by The 5th Dimension—a group whose harmonies were smoother than summer breeze.

The song quickly became one of the era’s most uplifting anthems, winning four Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year!

Fun fact: The song was inspired by an actual hot air balloon Webb saw one morning, and it ended up launching The 5th Dimension’s career sky-high. It’s hard not to smile (or hum along) when you hear it.

Now it’s your turn, GrayViners! What classic tune should we feature next week?

Drop your suggestion in the comments below—the one with the most reactions will be our next Sunday Classics winner and will be featured in next week’s newsletter.

So sit back, sip your coffee, and let’s see what song takes us up, up and away next!

Cheers!
Blue 💙

"Oh Sherrie" which was released by Steve Perry as a single in April of 1984. The song was written about his then-girlfriend, Sherrie Swafford and the song was also on Steve's first solo album, "Street Talk".
