GrayViners, I'm curious: What’s your favorite Christmas memory? It could be an exciting adventure you had once as a child or an unforgettable journey you had with friends and family. Albuquerque New Mexico, 1970. Christmas Eve. Fill the Luminarie bags with sand. 200+ with my Dad and my brother Jim. Place each bag carefully along the roofline of the house and outline the front yard. Place a Luminary candle in each bag making sure each wick was upright. My Mom said we needed to rest because we always went to midnight Mass. After a light supper we would go outside to light the candles. Well my Brother and Daddy because I was still too young. It was off to see Albuquerque in all her glory. What a sight. We would walk around Old Town for what seemed hours. The smell of pinion burning in fireplaces nearby was amazing. Then off to Midnight Mass where my Mom sang with the choir. She had a solo tonight.I couldn't wait to here her sing, her Beautiful soprano voice. She sang Silent Night just like an angel. Then home to bed, Daddy rushed us through the living room past the Christmas tree. I think Santa had been there already. Sweet Dreams Liz

WWhen I was probably about 9:00 there were 10 of us children so we didn't get much for Christmas usually homemade pajamas flannel and we would get games to play as a family but one year I don't know who decided to do it or who supposedly found it but they said Santa dropped a doll on our roof now the boys could get to the roof through their bedroom window so I'm sure Dad or Mom had them put it out there but it was a really pleasant surprise and at that age I probably believed

When we were young we always went to my grandparents house on Christmas Eve On the way home my dad would always find a red light from a radio tower and tell us it was Santa and his reindeer and that was Rudolph’s nose lighting the way to our house. When we got home Santa had been there and the squeals of joy from 6 kids filled the house for hours.

Growing up in the 50’s Christmas morning was thrilling! Santa did so much in our home. My brothers and I helped mom put up different decorations all over our house. When we kids went to bed on Christmas Eve, there wasn’t a tree put up! We came down the stairs the next morning there wasn’t the most beautiful decorated Christmas tree full of lights ornaments and tinsel! Our stockings were hung and full of goodies! Santa even set up an awesome and amazing trains running all throughout our living and dining rooms! The area was filled with townspeople road signs and tunnels and all kinds of accessories! The only presents under the tree before bedtime was ours to our parents and grandparents. Santa had delivered lots of gifts for our family! My mother made us a wonderful breakfast after we opened our new presents! What a great tradition! I reread this before sending. I hope I didn’t leave out too many details of super traditional memories! Oh well, here it is! 🫨

It’s was Christmas Eve 1981 and I was working on a Steel Mill Startup in Kaohsiun, Taiwan. My mother had sent me a Santa Claus suit because I had something special in mind. I was 24. My Chinese fiancée Lin and I decided I would dress up in my Santa outfit and hire a Taxi to take us around town. We hit ever bar, restaurant and Hotel we could spreading Christmas cheer. I must say Santa consumed much adult beverages that evening. I later learned I had been filmed and ended up on the local news titled “Santa Pays a Visit”. Oh to be that young again.
