What Would The Grandkids Say? 05.17.2025

Hey GrayViners!

Time for another fun addition to your Gen Z vocabulary! Today’s word: "sus."

Nope, it’s not short for "suspense"—though it might leave you guessing!
"Sus" is actually short for "suspicious." It’s used when something (or someone) seems a little off, shady, or just doesn’t add up.

You might hear someone say, “That sounds kinda sus…” when they’re raising an eyebrow at a fishy story or a deal that seems too good to be true. (It’s usually playful, but sometimes it’s spot on!)

So, if someone calls something “sus,” they’re basically saying it’s worth a second look.

What’s the most sus thing you’ve seen lately? Drop it in the comments!

With love,
Sophia 💓
