What's A Ferrule?
Did you know that there's a name for the metal bit at the end of a pencil that holds the eraser in place? It's called a ferrule! It's a vital component of a modern pencil and an interesting form of brand identity. Though the attached eraser still has a largely American pencil feature, just about every pencil manufacturer in the world makes some version of it.
