When I was growing up we had a cheap shoe store. We could get shoes 2 pair for $5. My sister got one and I got the other pair. We only wore them to school The rest of the time we were always barefoot. This habit has stuck with me and I am now 69 years old. I have a couple of pairs of house shoes that were gifts that still look brand new!!!
@angelmimi What a sweet memory. I can just picture that shoe store and you and your sister picking pairs together. It’s amazing how some habits from childhood stay with us. Those house shoes must be practically untouched!
 
@GaryBlake Barefoot even in the snow? That’s impressive. You’re braver than most of us!
I got this from my mother. She was barefoot most of the time as well. I don't stand in the snow for very long while grilling; just long enough to tend my grill, then back inside. I find it invigorating!
