Quote of the Day - 08.31.2025

“The longer I live, the more beautiful life becomes.”
— Frank Lloyd Wright

This line captures something we can all nod our heads to. With time, the little things seem sweeter: the laughter of family around the table, the quiet comfort of a familiar chair, the way a sunrise feels more like a blessing than just the start of another day. Aging brings its challenges, sure—but it also gives us sharper eyes for beauty, and deeper gratitude for the moments we once might have hurried past.

It’s a wonderful reminder that life doesn’t lose its shine as we grow older—in many ways, it becomes richer, fuller, and more precious.

So let’s open it up, GrayViners: What has become more beautiful to you with time? Is it the bonds of family, the rhythm of daily life, or the simple joy of waking up to another morning?

Share your reflections below—we’d love to hear what life has taught you to see with new eyes.

Cheers!
Blue 💙

To be able to wake up every morning and enjoy life and all it has to offer. There is so much to life, good, bad or indifference but always a rainbow in the end. Losing 2 siblings at a very young age has given me a different view point of getting older.

Thank you for sharing this heartfelt perspective @Arkie98 . 🌸 Waking up each morning and appreciating life’s full spectrum, from the highs to the lows, is such a powerful way to live. I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your siblings at such a young age — no doubt that shaped the way you see each new day as a gift. Do you find there are certain little everyday things that bring you the most joy now, the kind that perhaps you might have overlooked when you were younger?

I enjoy just setting listening to nature. When younger was always on the go and working endlessly. Never took the time to stop and smell the roses. Just setting on my patio with a cup of coffee is a pleasure i love. And having a good book to read.

Waking up to my cat butting me in the head to feed him. than enjoying my coffee while reading emails.
Thank you for sharing this @Hazeleyes ! 🐾 Your cat sounds like quite the character — what a sweet (and determined!) way to start the day. Pairing that with coffee and some quiet time sounds like such a comforting little ritual. Has your cat always been this playful in the mornings, or is it a habit that’s developed over time?

Bruno (first rescue cat that became our shop cat at work to being adopted by me) was fed by the night supervisor around 3-3:30 AM. I started work at 5 AM. He still wants to get fed in early AM. I try to get him to wait to 4AM. Him butting me in the head is his way of telling me to get up.
